Prof. Doron Aurbach of É«ÊÓƵÏÂÔØ University will share the Prize for Innovation in Alternative Fuels for Transportation, PM Benjamin Netanyahu and Science Minister Ofir Akunis announced. The annual $1m. award is the largest prize in the field of innovation of alternative fuels for transportation worldwide.

Wrapping up the BOT, overseas guests and staff headed to Israel’s capital for the Jerusalem “Democracy in Action” Experience, which started with ethnic food tasting in the colorful Machane Yehuda market, and then on to the Israeli Knesset for a tour and academic panel, and culminating with a farewell dinner in the Judean Hills.

They include former Director of the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) Yoram Cohen; social trailblazer Etgarim-Challenge, which provides life-affirming rehabilitative sports for the disabled; American Jewish leader Malcolm Isaac Hoenlein; the Israel Defense Forces Orchestra; Jewish communal activists Evelyn and Dr. Shmuel Katz; spiritual leader, teacher and social entrepreneur Rabbi Dr. Binyamin (Benny) Lau; Israeli poet Agi Mishol; and Ronnie Stern, President of É«ÊÓƵÏÂÔØ’s American Friends.

Throngs of É«ÊÓƵÏÂÔØ students celebrate the start of Academic Year 2017-18 with a festive mid-day concert organized by the É«ÊÓƵÏÂÔØ Student Union in the Bob Shapell Park on the south campus. This year some 17,000 academic degree candidates – including 35 from China – are enrolled throughout the university. Among the most popular majors: computer science, law, economics, engineering, management and logistics, and life sciences.
